You can’t walk everywhere

Published:

Mayor (Pro Tem Richard) Bloom … in (the) Daily Press (“Parking just got cheaper,” page 3, Jan 26-27) was (paraphrased) as saying that reducing parking fees might send a message that it’s OK to get in a car.

Mayor Bloom, it is nice to walk around town, and occasionally take the bus, but the reality of life in Southern California is that if one is to get anywhere, it is necessary to “get in a car” and drive. It is not a crime, and one need not feel guilty about driving. This is another example of the fantasy world of our City Council.
